This website is run by Sussex Health and Care ICS and NHS Sussex ICB. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Some pages contain links to IDs which don’t exist – ‘The intent of this Success Criterion is to allow people who navigate sequentially through content more direct access to the primary content of the Web page.’. Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

To maintain a high standard of accessibility for new content, and improve existing content as outlined above under “How accessible this website is” we will:

  • Review specific aspects of our site’s accessibility and usability (monthly)
  • Conduct automatic and manual accessibility checks across the site (weekly) we will be engaging with a specialist organisation Silktide to help us with this.
  • Correct errors or implement improvements and
  • Cascade best practice approaches to content editors
  • Keep in open communication with our provider Chambury Learning to report any platform-based accessibility issues.
  • Update our Accessibility Guidelines for content creators on a quarterly basis.

This website was last tested on 11/08/2023. The test was carried out internally.

The purpose of ARIA labels is to provide a label for objects that can be read by assistive technology.

 

Fix is included in Totara V17.9 – meaning this fix should be implemented by October 2023.

‘Ensure form controls have labels’

Labels help all users to understand what a form control is and what is being asked for. They are essential for users who cannot easily determine this by looking at the form and surrounding content.

Currently under review by Chambury Learning (timeline TBC)

‘Fixed menu sometimes obscured by navigation bar and ‘jumps’’

Makes navigation more difficult.

Fix has been added to theme update work – meaning this fix should be implemented by November/December 2023.

Fix is included in Totara V17.9 – meaning this fix should be implemented by October 2023.

‘Logo identified in code as a <h1> heading’

The logo is identified as the top-level heading on every page – meaning the page headings are harder to identify for users using assistive technology.
