What is an Advanced Practitioner?

Advanced Clinical Practitioners are experienced registered health and care practitioners from a variety of backgrounds.

They work at a level of practice that is characterised by a high degree of autonomy, complex decision-making, while managing significant ambiguity and risk.

They are educated to Masters level education or equivalent.

Working across the four pillars of advanced practice, which includes, leadership and management, education and research, while demonstrating core capabilities and area specific clinical competences.

Advanced Practitioners work in a variety of clinical areas, from general practice, rehab services, out patients, emergency departments, theatre, as well as working in social care.
