Having robust coaching skills in your leadership/management toolkit and the confidence to use them effectively within your work or life can be incredibly useful, rewarding and satisfying. When using a coaching approach, you will find satisfaction in empowering others to develop and achieve their goals. Our qualified coaches who support the Sussex Coaching Network say that ‘to coach is an opportunity to make a difference and see the impact on other people’s lives and it’s a chance to give something back to the system and feel great satisfaction in doing so.'

Coaching offers a short to mid-term support, often with long term benefits, focusing on a specific situation an individual might be facing and aims to help them to make sense of it and see alternative perspectives. Coaching helps to unlock their ability to resolve problems or generate new ideas that will improve their outcomes, goals or performance to support and enhance their personal effectiveness and their team's productivity.

“I use coaching with the staff in my team in supervision and appraisals, as well as taking the opportunity to coach in everyday work conversations as I find that I really enjoy empowering a coachee to see things from a different perspective, to see what opportunities might be out there, and to set and achieve their goals.”
